When winter hits hard and the roads freeze solid, these chains really shine. The V-bar studs welded on each twist link dig in and break through ice and hard-packed snow, keeping your tires gripping instead of spinning. The ladder-style pattern helps you push forward through deep snow or icy dirt roads without sliding back. It’s the same kind of heavy-duty setup that plow drivers and mountain commuters rely on when traction really counts.

The simple ladder layout gives solid forward traction, so you can crawl out of unplowed driveways or haul through snowy access roads without losing momentum. These chains perform just as well when you drop into a slick, muddy stretch since the open pattern clears slush and dirt fast. If you’re plowing, towing, or just trying to reach a remote cabin after a storm, the design helps you stay in control and keeps the vehicle pulling steady.
Getting chains snug when your fingers are cold can be tough, but the built-in cams make it simple. Just use the included tool to twist each cam tight around the tire until the chain hugs evenly. The assisted tensioning keeps things centered as you drive, and if you want an even firmer hold, you can add optional rubber adjusters. Once they’re on, they stay put through snow, ice, and uphill climbs.

Each 8 mm (0.312") link is made from nickel manganese alloy steel for strength and corrosion resistance. That means less rusting and less wear, even if these chains see salt, grit, and repeated freeze-thaw cycles. They hold up under constant use—perfect for plow trucks or anyone tackling long winters. Dry them after each run and they’ll keep performing year after year.
This set includes two tire chains that fit 20" – 22-1/2" tires. They’re built for on-road winter driving where ice and packed snow demand real bite. With their V-bar icebreaking design, ladder traction pattern, and easy cam tensioning, these chains make sure you can get where you need to go even when conditions get rough.

Ratings & Reviews
Ordered these chains when our others broke during snow plowing. They arrived in a timely manner and were exactly as portrayed in the description. I would definitely order again.
Had these chains for a year now and luckily haven't had to use them yet. They look extremely well constructed and customer service was excellent. Ordered some not realizing they were out of stock, called C.S. and the lady who answered was so helpful and knowledgeable. Recommend a different set that saved me money and was better suited for the area I lived. Thank you guys!!
Ordered 2 types if chains, standard and cross bars.
Arrived earlier than expected.
Have them, hope not to use them.
Purchased for a 99 F350 dually.
Ordering was easy and follow up shows care for the customer.
Bought these for my pickup with a plow on. Doesn't leave the property in the winter. A lot cheaper and convenient than purchasing snow tires and having to remove them in the spring. Definitely the way to go.
I was amazed with the quickness in receiving the order. Because of the age of the truck there a question about sizing the snow chains. I spoke to a representative and he recommended the size of chains to oder and I did.
They fit like a glove.
Thank you for your fine service.
Fast shipping! Great price. These chains are so easy to install just like the Vidio shows they are much more heavy duty than I expected. I used them the day they were delivered, mile of unplowed road to my camp The traction in snow is incredible. Very happy with my purchase!
Great heavy duty chain. My dad is a truck driver and says these are just like the ones they use on their rigs. I have a 1990 C2500 so it doesn't do well in the snow at all. Now I can safely get to work in the early mornings before the plow comes through!
As described. These are the actual chains. I'm happy. etrailer delivered as promised and demonstrated extra mile customer service to get me all ordered parts before my extended driving trip. Thank you.
I am very pleased with the ease of ordering the availability and pricing of these snow tire chains, and the process from ordering to having them delivered was very fast.
Had difficulty geting chains that fit the tire correctly, some were too short, another too loose. As I was about to give up and strap snowshoes to each tire, Terri N provided great customer support and matched a set that fits perfectly, with adjustment room. These are heavy duty and well built. Thanks, Terri!
I would recemond these tire chains. So far the chains have done a good job gripping the snow and ice as I have plowed up and down the hill of my long driveway.
I am completely satisfied with the quality of these tire chains that I purchased from your company. But I am most impressed by the customer service I received after my item was lost in transit. Another set of chains was sent with no questions or hassles at all. I am totally amazed at this company and I will definitely share my feelings with my friends.
These are the first set of chains I owned for a vehicle which is a 2003 e350 diesel van. These chains are easy to install and to take off. They turn my van into a tank. She crawled though thick heavy snow and even high amounts of the light fluffy snow as well. The wear after a year seems little to none. These are exactly what I needed and I’m so happy after a year.
My first order em with etrailer... remarkable communication and service. Chat function was helpful, price was good, order comms were good, and shipping only took two days from order across the country. And immediate follow up when delivered. Slick operation. Product seems quality though I haven’t installed yet.
Have not actually had to use chains yet on the road but have installed them in driveway, fit properly and shipping was prompt and as promised. Second time I have ordered from Etrailer and have been very satisfied with service.
Tried chains yesterday, fit like suede glove. Cam locks definitely worth the price. Used them as on 18 wheeler years ago and won't ever go back to rubber tensioner! 2 day delivery and free shipping just icing on cake.
We bought the chains for emergency use on our jeep, pick-up and suv, should we ever need the extra traction. The boys have only used them on the jeep, so far, to joyride through the fields full of Jonas-snow last winter. They worked great! Would highly recommend them and would buy again!
The chains work fine... even though I've never had the cam tighteners before I think it's a good idea. The multi-arm rubber tighteners are okay but for me the tradition "rubber band" type of tightener is easier to use. One thing is certain, it is almost pointless to use the single tire chains on a dually. The unchained tire stays on top of the surface while the chained tire digs a hole until you worse off than before you tried the chains. Good point that I was aware of but I had the chains before I bought the dually. Good lesson for your future customers though.
Best tire chains that I ever owned . Easy to put on the tires and they stay put.

These chains have been on my F250 plow truck for a year now and haven’t needed any adjustment
Great chains. The grip is unbeatable on dirt roads. The multiple cam system is awesome and simple! I'll never buy anything other than these multi-cam chains. I use them on the old 7.3L dually for snow plowing and/or hauling anything up the road to cabin in the winter.
Tips: Carry an old yoga mat or two in the truck to lay on for getting underneath and behind the tires. I summer I use the mats for working under the truck work when on dirt or in shop. Have your tools with you on the plow job!
Do not drive these chains on paved roads with this; the "V" grip will get ground down and/or a link will break. Take the time to take them off for paved roads, and put back on back on dirt, it'll save these chains!!!
One season plowing review:
They held up great... That means is nothing broke that couldn't be fixed by me. I never used the front chains, except when my back chain broke (outer link over main cam system), I took it off and used one front chain on a single back tire, to get me through that days job. worked fine! replaced outer link when I got home (see product link below)
On dually set, outer locking link broke; the link one that goes over the cam mechanism.
I got my replacements at a local tire shop for less than $1. I bought a few, knowing this would likely happen again. Tools you may consider to have to get these on: pliers, vice grips, big flat head screw driver, and a hammer to smash it down after it's on. Think chain size PAPER CLIP. Keep these on hand, and the tools in your truck's kit to replace these on the job.
YES, various chains bent and a few came off several times infer bending, and that's exactly what I'd expect from a chain used for heavy duty plowing. Sometimes chains just come off... that was my fault for not retightening several times as I plow. Easy to check the cams for tightening. Remember... Keep the cam tool in the tool box ON TRUCK. I have all four of my cam tools on hand.
Every year after plowing season ends, I lay my chains on a steel plate and go through every link... using a large hand held sledge and various hand tools for bending/smashing chain links back into position, or replace as needed.
I found about 8 or nine outer retainers that were starting to open a bit (see pic of a replacement new one)... some close to really opening up; so I bent them back into a closed position. Everyone should be doing this every year with your chains. It's not uncommon for the the outer chains clips to open up gradually over time. Start each season by inspecting these, smashing them down with a hand sledge as needed.
One item to have in a plow truck since I learned a lesson last year... bolt cutters. Big and heavy to keep in a truck, but would have saved my ass last year from changing out rear dually chains to a single front chain, if I could've just snipped the cross tire chain off; who's outer link had come off. I'll be throwing that into my "tool kit" this year.
I received my order on Friday, I placed my order Wednesday evening, I would say that is a great turnaround time, I feel the products I ordered are good quality and a fair price. I test fitted my chains and adjusters Saturday morning, I had to tweak one the chains a little and they seem great, thanks a lot, I feel I got a good fair deal.
Chains were the correct size and light enough to handle easily. Product seems to operate well under snow and ice conditions like it was designed to do. All good to report.

Right on Michael, I wish I would've had these on my car with all of the snow we just got in Missouri!
Needed some individual adjustments (shortening, removing one cross-link) to my tires (no complain). After that, fitted very tight and performed above expectations on an unplowed section of road from the highway to my lake cabin.
What great customer service!! I wish all online companies were as great as yours.
Thanks again
Excellent experience! Great price and free, fast shipping! Very impressed, I'll be back! You are an excellent option to the popular online shopping monopoly. Thank you!
